SafeMargin is a Shopify application designed to help merchants analyze product margins, manage product cost information, and simulate discounts before changing live prices.

When a merchant installs and uses SafeMargin, the application may process information necessary to provide its features, including:

• Shop information and Shopify store identifiers.
• Product and product variant information.
• Product prices and cost-per-item information.
• Product collections and related catalog information.
• SafeMargin settings such as fees and target margin.
• Technical installation, authentication, session, and subscription information required to operate the application.

SafeMargin does not require access to customer orders or protected customer personal information for its core margin-analysis features.

Information is processed only as necessary to:

• Display and analyze product margins.
• Calculate estimated minimum safe selling prices.
• Calculate estimated maximum safe discounts.
• Simulate promotions before they are applied.
• Allow merchants to update product cost information.
• Save application settings.

3. Shopify data

SafeMargin accesses Shopify data through Shopify APIs and only uses the permissions required for the application's functionality.

Shopify may independently collect and process information according to Shopify's own privacy policies and terms.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell merchant or Shopify store data.

Information may be processed by infrastructure or service providers when necessary to host, secure, maintain, or operate SafeMargin. These providers are used only for legitimate application operations.

5. Data retention

SafeMargin retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

When SafeMargin is uninstalled, applicable Shopify privacy and data deletion processes are followed.

6. Data security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
